2018 Gevrey Chambertin Les Platieres

Offering up aromas of berry compote, spices and orange rind, the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Platières is more overtly fruit-driven than it seemed from barrel, and its nose is slow to unwind. Medium to full-bodied, powerful and muscular, its ripe core of fruit is framed by chalky tannins that assert themselves on the back end.
