Score 88-90/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021
A blend of equal parts Seuvrées and Charreux, the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village opens in the glass with notes of cassis, sweet berry fruit, spices, loamy soil and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and structured, with fine depth at the core and youthfully chewy tannins, it will demand a bit of patience.

Two plots, 50 (Seuvrées) and 70 years old. Cask sample. Mid crimson. Dark-fruited and lightly peppery. Classic Gevrey aroma. Savoury, sweetly spiced and perfectly balanced, the fruit elegantly dark and the tannins fine and dry, just slightly chewy on the finish. Benchmark Gevrey with good ageing potential. (JH)
