Tasting notes
This is an awesome Brunello. No new oak is utilized at this estate, and the result is a wine with explosive aromas of smoke, roasted coffee, dried herbs, cherry liqueur, licorice, plums, and Asian spices. Expansive, rich, dense, and full-bodied, with low acidity and a precocious, up-front personality, this lusty, fragrant, expansively-flavored Brunello di Montalcino should be drunk over the next 10-12 years. Classic garnet, but a bit lighter and more evolved at the edge. Full, generous aromas of game, leather and tar; warm and characterful. Precise flavors of plum, game and tar. Quite stylish and classy, finishing with elegant tannins and very good texture. Long on personality.
