Araujo Estate was renamed Eisele Vineyard Estate in 2016. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Eisele’s second wine, named after Bart Araujo’s grandmother. Deep blackish crimson.Interesting, savoury notes on the nose – appetising. Lots of sweetness on palate entry and then balsam notes on the end. Quite racy and accessible – even pretty. French-influenced (?) dry finish and still some tannins to be resolved. Not a ridiculous price…? (JR)
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia has slightly muted black cherries, crushed black plums and cassis with hints of licorice, black soil and cracked pepper plus a waft of tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, rich and expressive in the mouth, it delivers a lot of layers and wonderfully fine tannins, finishing long and earthy.
About the producer
