2015 Bonnes Mares

(13.4% natural alcohol, from fruit harvested on September 3): Bright dark red. Very dark scents of blueberry, blackberry, licorice pastille and high-toned brown spices are pure but reticent. Penetrating, powerful, slightly hard-edged wine with a serious tannic structure and apparent oak influence. Obviously very ripe, this wine is extremely tight today, even youthfully tough, and will require considerable patience. My score may prove to be overly conservative.
