Tasting notes
RS 118 g/l, TA 9.1 g/l. Fantastic tension from the minute this wine explodes out the starting blocks. This blazes across the palate, sleek muscle, grace and fiercely racy. Toffee apple, dried tobacco leaf, candied pineapple and pecan granola. And yet there are some very pretty, delicate apple-puree and sweet pear notes as well. Fresh fruit as well as dried fruit. The flavours fill full and ebb back like moon-drawn tides: richly sweet and intense dried apricots, then dry and tight and spiced. The finish is as fragrant as a fine cigar, just cut, only just lit. Exquisitely, almost painfully vivid. (TC)

Pale greenish mahogany colour. Rich rancio nose with a layer of melted butter. Sweet and fresh, balanced by just the right amount of acidity. Complete and already a great pleasure to drink. Very smooth and both satisfying and refreshing. This would make a great post-prandial drink. (JR)
The 2000 Malvasia was bottled in 2018. It has a well-defined bouquet of hazelnut, ginger biscuits, beeswax and linseed aromas, gaining intensity all the time in the glass. The palate has a chocolate-tinged opening, plenty of spice and ginger and more molasses and honeyed notes toward the waxy-textured finish. Moderate in terms of length, this is a competent rather than spellbinding Malvasia.
