Tasting notes
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Village, racked 4-6 weeks prior to my visit, has a fragrant bouquet, maybe without quite the same pixelation as the Morey-Saint-Denis. The palate is framed by edgy tannins, brambly red fruit, orange zest and a touch of black pepper, vibrant and energetic towards its tense finish. This will offer a lot of pleasure over the next decade.

A more elegant if not more complex nose features notes of cool red currant, spice and a pretty floral wisp. The succulent, round and delicious medium weight flavors possess a refined mouthfeel thanks to the fine-grained tannins supporting the youthfully austere, saline, balanced and nicely persistent finale. Lovely and fashioned in an understated style.
Tank sample. Mid ruby. Red cherries and raspberry. Quite gracious. Elegant, silky tannins. Good. (MH)
