Tasting notes
Deep, dark ruby in the glass, this Chambertin is another serious wine. It’s beautifully expressive, with a nose of red and black berry fruit. Full-bodied, it’s balanced with fine tannins and succulent acidity that offsets the dense, complex mid-palate. It builds to a long, vibrant, spicy and concentrated finish. This is really impressive and deserves a few years’ cellaring to reach its full potential. Highly recommended.

Cask sample. Mid cherry. Mature red fruit; cherry, strawberry coulis and redcurrant compote. Clean and very well delineated, the body of this is lithe and tonic. Great vigour and energy, without the absolute volume of a hotter vintage. Powerful and long. (MH)
About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
