Tasting notes
This blend of Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc is one of Italy's iconic white wines with a long and storied tradition. The Livio Felluga 2020 Rosazzo Terre Alte is fermented and aged in stainless steel only. It opens to a luminous golden color with honey and hints of emerald green. The wine presents a medium-bodied approach with good textural support for its multiple layers of stone fruit, spicy Asian pear and gooseberry. The fruit is lively, and the wine concludes with a hint of that unique creaminess you only get in Friuli white wines.

Pinot Blanc, Friulano and Sauvignon Blanc. Tasted blind. Mid straw. Nose is like a serious Sancerre – or Pur Sang. Very concentrated – like essence of Sauvignon. Massive extract and impact on the green-noted palate. A wine that commands attention! Not for aperitif sipping! There’s some apparent sweetness there though it’s certainly a dry wine. Just the right side of brutal! (JR)
The 2020 Terre Alte Rosazzo is a spice bomb seducing with a beguiling mix of flinty stone, dried flowers and ginger offset by vividly ripe nectarine. It washes across the palate with an opulent, textural wave of mineral-inflected fruits and savory spice while taking on a citrus-derived tension toward the close. Long and pungently floral, the 2020 simply doesn't quit, echoing with tart orchard fruits and wild herbal tones offset by an enriching air of lemon custard. The balance, yet also the depth of character here, is unreal. The Terre Alte Rosazzo is a blend of Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon.
