Score 85-87/100 · Drink 2020-2025, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice comes from vines around 60 years old, and this is one of the few cuvées to be completely de-stemmed. It has a terse, rocky bouquet, more stony than fruit-driven. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins and a little raw and mean at the moment compared to the Village Crus from Vougeraie, needing more substance to show through on the finish. Hopefully this will improve in bottle.
