This comes from a tiny parcel – just 27 ares. It was a real highlight of our tasting in 2021, with a more exotic, almost regal nose that combines rich red fruit with spicy complexity. There’s a plushness that is absent elsewhere, with a line of minerality that balances the riper strawberry and cherry tones, with a crushed-raspberry freshness. With florals and finesse, this is balanced, offering structure that isn’t seen everywhere in 2021.

The 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has one of the finest aromatics from Jadot this year with a seductive bouquet of wild strawberry, blueberry, sous-bois and hints of Earl Grey and wilted rose petals. Wonderful. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and crisp acidity. It's taut and fresh with a touch of spice toward the cohesive and persistent finish. This is a superb effort in such a challenging growing season.
Aromas of red cherries, raspberries, raw cocoa, spices, rose petals and licorice preface the 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless wine that's deep, complex and perfumed. It's another one of the high points of the portfolio.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
