Tasting notes
Künstler's 2020 Hochheim Hölle GG VDP. Grosse Lage combines intensity with subtleness and purity on the nose. Pure, vital, fresh and tensioned on the palate, this is a full-bodied (but not heavy) and athletic dry Riesling from heavy clay soils. The finish is pure, saline, grippy and, last but not least, really long and intense. 13% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in June 2022.

A pleasant aromatic fragrance of stone fruit and a hint of herb garden flatter the olfactory perception. On the palate the wine is not ostentatious in its presentation of apricot fruit with a slight herbal sprinkling but shows good structure, with a hardly noticeable spicy note of wood-ageing. Elegant type of Grosses Gewächs. (MS)
The deep, peach and apricot nose leads you into this enormously concentrated yet graceful dry riesling that’s got the stature to stand next to almost any Grand Cru white Burgundy. Enormously long, beautifully balanced finish that pulls your hand magnetically back to the glass. Drink or hold.
