Predominantly from volcanic soils, the 2021 Riesling Trocken is super clear, fresh and flinty on the precise and reductive nose that shows ripe but focused fruit with white peach and apricot aromas. Light and highly stimulating on the palate, this is a salty, crisp and grippy Riesling with juicy fruit and the mineral expression of the Nahe. 11.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted in July 2022.

Beautiful floral reduction with dried pears and gun smoke, candied violets and a delicate lemon-peel twist. Elegant, juicy palate reveals a delicate apple fruitiness and mild savoury bite, with wild momentum. Easily exceeds the level of many a Gutswein. (PS)
