Score 89/100 · Drink 2020-2030, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020
The 2018 Chablis 1er Cru Montmain opens in the glass with pretty aromas of peach, orange blossom, white flowers and fresh bread. Medium-bodied, delicate and fine-boned, its charming core of fruit is girdled by lively acids. This is quite a giving, immediate Montmain.

The 2018 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru is bright and punchy, with an attractive element of stoniness that gives the wine energy and a real sense of drive. Even with the natural radiance of the 2018 fruit on display, the Montmains has a very classic sense of austerity that suggests it will need at least a few years in bottle to be at its best. Floral and tropical notes add the closing shades of nuance.
