The 2020 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru comes from a small 0.25ha parcel in Vaupoulin at the top of the incline. Matured exclusively in steel vat, it has a taut, green apple and gooseberry-tinged bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a sour lemon note on the entry. This is quite compact and I would have liked more substance on the finish that feels just slightly tapered at the moment.

Very cool, flinty and herbal in the nose, this Chablis 1er Cru is a very cool customer that needs some time to reveal its true class. Very crystalline palate with wonderful precision. Very long and straight finish. Excellent aging potential. Drink or hold.
