2019 Gevrey Chambertin La Justice

There are four barrels from purchased fruit of the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice this year. It is tightly wound on the nose with chalk-infused black fruit, a little sous-bois emerging, damp leaves on an October morning. The palate is medium-bodied with red fruit on the entry, quite tender and elegant with a touch of white pepper on the saline finish. Probably one of Lignier’s earlier drinking cuvées, nevertheless, it may well age with style.
