The 2021 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon comes from a barrel selection made in the winery. It has a straightforward, tertiary nose, as I found in barrel, though it needs to knit together just a little more. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannins on the entry, more elegant on the mid-palate yet still a little austere on the finish. It will appeal to those that like classical claret, though the growing season denied it the flesh seen in other vintages.
The 2021 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is a bold, juicy wine. Succulent dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and violet all flesh out in the glass. Pastourelle is one of the hidden gems in Bordeaux. The 2021 is another fine edition. Readers should expect a fleshy, supple style.
