Ch. Clerc Milon

Ch. Clerc Milon was purchased by Baron Philippe Rothschild in 1970. Today the 41-hectare vineyard, sandwiched between First Growths Ch. Lafite Rothschild and Ch. Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac, is one of Bordeaux’s most impressive Fifth Growths

This property’s origins date back to the French Revolution, with the name coming from the Clerc family who bought it – joining their name to the hamlet of Milon, where the vineyard is located. The 30-hectare Pauillac estate’s potential was recognised in the 1855 classification, when it was named a Fifth Growth. The property went largely unknown and neglected for the next century, however, until it was bought by the Rothschilds in 1970 – then just 15 hectares.
