Brighter and more ethereal than the Orme des Chalandins, Perrot-Minot's 2019 Vosne-Romanée Champs Perdrix soars with aromas of raspberries, peonies, red berries and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, bright and satiny, it's racier and more mineral, concluding with an elegantly chalky finish.

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix Vieilles Vignes, which comes from 50-year old vines, has an overtly floral bouquet with pressed violet and iris petals. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, rounded in texture with impressive volume, though I would like more tension to develop on the finish that needs to "kick on" a little more.
