The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Château has a very perfumed bouquet of red cherry and strawberry fruit. The palate is tart on the entry with slightly rustic tannins and modest weight. Just a little attenuated on the finish.

Made since 2012 but they need to do more work on the vines, apparently. Cask sample. Lightweight nose and freshness. With a hint of butter on the nose. Very gentle and charming. So easy to like. Builds from subtlety to an impressive spread on the finish. (JR)
