Tasting notes
The 2019 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with aromas of sweet berry fruit, plums, peonies, rose petals, exotic spices and blood orange. Full-bodied, ample and layered, it's velvety and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, sapid finish. Given its upfront appeal, this will offer an unusually broad drinking window.

The 2019 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has a spellbinding bouquet with wonderful precision and focus: black cherries, wild strawberry, wet limestone, orange rind and just a very light menthol note. The oak is beautifully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with finer tannins than the Mazoyères compared directly alongside, that lends this Grand Cru an unerring weightlessness. So much mineralité is bestowed upon this Mazis, one of the outstanding wines of the appellation in 2019.
About the producer

This estate, today with Arnaud Mortet at the helm, makes some of Gevrey-Chambertin’s finest wines. Working with 16 hectares, as well as a few négociant parcels, this property makes perfumed and chiselled Pinot Noir.
