Tasting notes
The 2016 Nahe Riesling Halenberg "GG" is super clear, fresh and fine on the nose, displaying bright, flinty fruit (blueberries) intermixed with crushed, crystalline stone and even herbal tea leaf aromas. Dense and intense on the palate, with concentrated yet highly elegant fruit, this is a very complex, mineral and densely woven Halenberg with great finesse and a long, very persistent and salty finish. A great wine indeed.

Red raspberry, huckleberry, white peach, wet stone and black tea on the nose set the stage for a polished palate performance lusciously generous in fruit yet transparent to diverse – smoky, stony and saline – mineral nuances. There is some of the same invigorating sense of seed-crunching and fruit-skin-chewing here as is conveyed by the corresponding Frühlingsplätzchen, but in the context of a more polished, glycerol-enriched underlying mouthfeel and remarkable clarity and finishing focus.
Water white. Very lifted – almost flyaway. Racy in the extreme with real finesse. So delicate! And very long. (JR)
