The 2015 Ségla has a more tertiary nose, with brambly red fruit, freshly rolled tobacco and light graphite scents. This veers toward Pauillac in style. The palate is silky smooth, with fine-boned tannins. It's simple, fleshy and I appreciate the pepperiness on the aftertaste here. This was tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting.
Shaded garnet. Light but fragrant nose. Polished tannins and some quite emphatic fruit. Proper wine with some persistence. (JR)
Tasted blind. Good fresh top note. Savoury, meat-and-two-vegy. A bit sturdy but honest. Really pretty dry on the end. (JR)
About the producer
The Chanel group purchased Margaux Second Growth Ch. Rauzan-Ségla in 1994. Under the iconic fashion house’s ownership and – since 2014 – the guidance of winemaker Nicolas Audebert, the estate has seen significant investment and rapidly become one of Bordeaux’s most desirable.
