2020 Chardonnay Unique

The bright, citrus-colored 2020 Chardonnay Malans Unique is another classic reminiscent of very fine Chablis, with coolish and refreshing white and yellow fruit aromas (such as green pears and honeydew melons) intertwined with oatmeal and flinty chalky notes. Very elegant and juicy on the palate, this is a round and mouth-filling, seductive and textured Chardonnay with rich and complex fruit and an impressive terroir foundation. The finish intermingles salts and tannins and initiates a long, complex and very promising, fine-meshed aftertaste. 13.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted at the domaine in Malans, February 2023.
