Including 50% whole bunch and vinified in 500-litre barrels, the 2020 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru offers quite intense brambly red fruit on the nose, damp undergrowth, tobacco and light floral notes. The palate is very well balanced with a pinch of white pepper on the entry, not a powerful Clos de Bèze towards the finish, rather elegant and refined.

The 2020 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru bursts from the glass with rich aromas of cherries, cassis, rich spices, loamy soil, rose petals and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, ample and velvety, it's fleshy and multidimensional, with lively acids, notable depth at the core and a long, resonant finish.
The 2020 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has a wonderful, well-defined bouquet with crushed rock and sous-bois percolating through the red berry fruit. The palate is very well balanced with sappy red fruit, white pepper, clove and light saline notes. Gentle grip on the finish but long and tender. This is a very classy Clos de Bèze. Superb.
About the producer
Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most famous producers in Burgundy, making both domaine and négociant wines. It remains family-owned and run, now in the hands of the fourth generation.
