Tasting notes
The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois is slightly higher-toned than its peers in this flight. The nose presents veins of blue fruit and crushed violet petals. It's a little more flamboyant in style while maintaining Gevrey DNA. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with vivid red berry fruit, cranberry and raspberry, quite saline in the mouth. This is a Gevrey that certainly gets the saliva flowing and beckons you back for another sip. There is plenty of personality here; this is a Gevrey with immense promise. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Bright crimson. Really quite spicy on the nose! Polished tannins and a very attractive balance between ripeness, freshness and tannin. This has real zest, and lots of immediate appeal. (JR)
The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois is a high point, nipping at the heels of the Etelois this year. Offering up aromas of cherries, sweet red berries, spices, potpourri and vanilla pod, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, with a multidimensional core, beautifully refined tannins and a seamless, complete profile.
