Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2022-2038, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Millandes 1er Cru has typical Morey bouquet of dark berry fruit mixed with graphite, a little distant at first but eventually developing more fruit concentration and hints of violet borrowed from Vosne. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin. This feels quite saline in the mouth, offering good density and sucrosity and a touch of blood orange mixed with white pepper toward the finish. Very fine.
