The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru has evidence of TCA on the nose that obscures the terroir and renders it a little monochromatic. The palate is balanced, with a keen line of acidity, solid structure and notable salinity, cohering nicely toward the close so that it at least finishes at its high point. But, I'm left wanting more, and the taint renders this null and void, unfortunately. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Aromas of plums, raw cocoa, sweet soil tones and warm spices introduce the 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Millandes, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine that's bright and precise, with a pretty core of fruit and fine, powdery tannins.
The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru shows more overt whole bunch influence compared to the preceding Chambolle-Village, touches of tea leaf infusing the black cherry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity, very harmonious and with fine salinity towards the elegant finish. Understated and refined.
