A concentrated and very well-structured Beaune that has plenty of positive tannic power. Still quite tightly wound, but thereâs excellent fruit and everything fits together very neatly at the long, spicy and earthy finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Aromas of cassis, plums, orange rind and sweet spices introduce Drouhin's 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves, a medium to full-bodied, bright and lively wine that's perfumed and precise, framed by powdery tannins and lively acids. It's more elegant and refined than its 2018 counterpart.
The 2019 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet of dark berry fruit, light seaweed and oyster shell scents, and the 30% whole cluster lends a subtle tertiary aspect. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, slightly chalky tannins. This is very well structured, delivering palpable energy. A saline finish gets the saliva flowing. Just a delicious Beaune Grèves.

Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most famous producers in Burgundy, making both domaine and négociant wines. It remains family-owned and run, now in the hands of the fourth generation.
