The 2018 Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett is bright, precise and floral on the slightly flinty, very elegant and finessed nose with crunchy slate aromas. Piquant and fresh on the filigreed and crystalline palate, this is a lush and tropical-flavored, buoyant and frisky Himmelreich with juicy apricot and white peach aromas and the fine grip pf broken slate. The finish is straight, piquant, well structured, stimulatingly fresh and salty. This is a gorgeous 2018 that tastes almost dry in the end. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.

In a striking and delightful contrast to its superb Badstube counterpart, this Himmelreich Kabinett offers a cooling and overtly citric personality. Lemon and grapefruit are suffused with green herbal essences, accompanied by yeast and wet stone on the nose and an adjunct of juicy ripe honeydew on the polished, delicate, sorbet-like palate. Piquancy of citrus zest and seeds is restrained but invigoratingly efficacious, and the generously juicy finish is admirably transparent to underlying wet stone.

Bright, clear and fresh, with an elegant and ripe fruit aroma intertwined with "sponti," herbal and vegetal notes on the slate-scented nose, the 2018 Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett is made from the very first grapes picked last year and includes 10% to 15% botrytis. Sourced in a 30-year-old vineyard that is right above the Josephshöfer and is vulnerable to rot (and forced Studert to discard the 2017 grapes the year before), this is an elegant, juicy, creamy-textured and complex Kabinett with a rather mild and well-balanced character compared to the piquant Sonnenuhr. The finish is complex and juicy. Bottled with 9% alcohol and 52 grams of residual sugar. Tasted two times from AP 7 19 in June and July 2019.
