Deep purple. Toasty oak. Rich but not baked fruit. Layers of spice, cedar and liquid stones. Intensity and density of blackberry fruit, liquid stones and spice. This is undoubtedly a big, powerful wine, but it has finesse to its tannins, superb length and just enough acidity to take this to the top of the class. A fine wine. (TJ)
This too is very ripe with its aromatic profile of cassis, dark cherry liqueur and soft spice and wood nuances. The succulent, even opulent, larger-scaled flavors are rich to the point of being almost thick while offering slightly better persistence on the firm, serious and slightly warm finish.
About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
