Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2022-2036, Neal Martin, Jan 2019
The 2017 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru comes from the family’s 0.12-hectare parcel and is matured entirely in new oak with 100% whole bunches (two barrels). It has a very intense bouquet of vibrant black cherry, raspberry, sous-bois and light mushroom scents, actually not dissimilar to a Domaine de la Romanée-Conti! The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and vibrant, classic in style, and accented by spicy black pepper and sage toward the structured, quite persistent finish. Excellent.
