Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru is forward, open-knit and very easy to enjoy. Passionfruit, mango, white flowers and mint all grace this silky, sumptuous 1er Cru from Samuel Billaud. Soft contours, forward fruit and the energy of the year all meld together in a wonderfully complete and delicious Chablis from Samuel Billaud.

Open and expressive, Billaud's 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains soars from the glass with a lively bouquet of beeswax, citrus fruit, green apple, mint and white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and giving, with ripe acids, a fleshy core and a saline finish.
Ripe green fruits. Creamy, greengage, with fine harmony of zesty fruit, crisp acidity and creamy smooth texture even without oak influence. Rounded and long. (JH)
Oyster shell and slate on the nose – distinctive, classic Chablis style. Smooth and glossy on the palate with a lovely rich dose of citrus fruit and a touch of herbal lift on the finish. (RH)
