Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2028, Neal Martin, Nov 2018
The 2017 Roaring Meg Pinot Noir has a clean, pure bouquet of macerated red cherries, boysenberry and light honeyed notes - quite rich and opulent for a Pinot Noir, but it retains decent definition. The palate is medium-bodied, with slightly chewy tannin and moderate depth, and grippy in the mouth; however, I would like to see more flesh develop in the final one-third just to counterbalance the slightly obdurate structure. There is potential here, but give it 24 months in bottle if you can.
