Tasting notes
The richest 2017 Spätlese from this producer. It has a stunning lemon and pineapple character and a breathtaking interplay of pure fruit and minerally acidity. How can you resist this great beauty now? Try not to forget that the aging potential of this wine is measured in decades.

The 2017 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese (Auction), AP 13 18, is highly refined and elegant on the flinty and purely slatey nose with discreet but present yeasty notes. Lush and generous but fine and delicate on the palate, this is a concentrated, citrus-fresh and highly elegant Spätlese with a salty-piquant, fresh and mineral finish. This is even finer than AP #5. Tasted in March 2019.
Ripe lemon and pomelo. Although the sample is very cold, there’s impressive fruit concentration here – depth as well as length, and the acidity is so crisp that the sweetness is significantly moderated. (JH)
