Tasting notes
Deep in color and deep aromas open the 2009 Fellbacher Lämmler Lemberger GG, a selection from the Bergmandel parcel that made it onto the wine label only later. The beautifully dark ruby colored Grosses Gewächs opens with a noble bouquet of perfectly ripe dark fruits intertwined with marjoram flavors and notes form graphite, juniper and tobacco. The wine is very intense, ripe and juicy in the mouth, very elegant, perfectly balanced and provided with beautiful herbal aromas. The freshness is still there and it matches greatly with the ripeness and maturity. This is a picture-book Lemberger from Germany: concentrated and vital, powerful and finesse-full. The finish is long and fresh, and reveals fine tannins and a stimulating purity.

Subtle aromas of cigar box and spice delight the olfactory perception. A juicy expression of fruits of the forest is given the slightest dusting of fine spices. Plenty of depth and a long finish give Lemberger a good name. (MS)
