Tasting notes
The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain unfurls in the glass with a beautiful bouquet of crisp orchard fruit, Meyer lemon, honeycomb, frangipane and white currants. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple, with succulent acids, a nicely concentrated core of fruit, fine-boned structure and a precise finish. This is an elegant, precise Champ Gain from Faiveley, and it comes warmly recommended.

Another super elegant white Burgundy with very delicate and seductive floral notes, plus fresh and candied lemons. Elegant and polished on the palate with a long and complex, chalky finish. Try it in 2020.
The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru comes from a single parcel of just over one hectare. It has a taut, linear bouquet with scents of Golden Delicious apple, wax resin and almond. The palate is well balanced, offering orange zest and apricot, a keen thread of acidity and a bright, quite tensile finish. This should be delicious virtually straight from bottling.
About the producer

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
