Tasting notes
Again that ripe, sweet black fruit on the nose, but tangy like tiny wild black berries. Not fat at all even though it is rich. A touch smoky from the oak but not dominated by it. Damson and elderberry. Theres tension on the palate even with all this fruit, a dark-fruited freshness. Tannins are chewy/chalky but close to supple. Needs time to release on the palate what is already there on the nose. Long and robust but not aggressive. (JH)

Rich pure dense purple. The nose presents a first indication of fully ripe dark raspberry fruit. Good detail, attractive tension, some minerals, dark raspberry and a suggestion of blackcurrant (but without indicating reduction), the wine has a very fine thread, concentrated and classy, everything nicely twined together with a fine crisp finish. Well-judged oak. Tasted Nov 2018.
