Tasting notes
The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets is also quite youthfully reticent at this stage, unwinding in the glass with a lovely bouquet of raspberries, dark chocolate, candied peel and rose petal. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with considerable amplitude and dimension, its fine but chewy structuring tannins largely concealed by a vibrant core of fruit.

The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Corvées Pagets 1er Cru comes from 70-year old vines and includes 100% stems. It has a highly perfumed bouquet with dark berry fruit, smoke, bay leaf and a whiff of chalk dust. There is almost a pastille-like purity here. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin, and blackberry mixed with brown spice and a touch of clove. Quite complex with superb persistence. Very classy.
100% whole bunch. Particularly heady, almost pruney nose. Lots of grip and drive. So energetic it almost tastes as though it has some carbon dioxide in here! Lots of structure. (JR)
(made entirely with whole clusters): Good medium red. Restrained but inviting scents of raspberry, spices and game. Sweet red berry and spice flavors are complicated by iron suggestions as well as notes of leather and earth. Finishes with dusty tannins but this wine has the ripeness and plumpness to support its whole-cluster vinification.
