Tasting notes
Bottled in limited numbers for the global market, I have been able to secure just 15 bottles of the newly released The Balvenie DoubleWood 25 Year Old, and am delighted to offer you this celebratory malt, direct from the distillery at £324 per bottle in bond. The Balvenie DoubleWood was first released as a 12 year old expression in 1993 and has since gone on to become one of the most popular single malt whiskies in the world. Containing whisky distilled in the same year as the original release, the DoubleWood 25 Year Old stays true to the original recipe by maturing in both American oak casks and the finest Oloroso Sherry casks from Spain. The 25 year old is a limited-edition expression, specially crafted by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of DoubleWood and is sure to become an instant collector’s item.

This limited edition bottling celebrates the 25th anniversary of the DoubleWood releases. DoubleWood malts are initially matured in bourbon casks before a second period in European oak sherry casks. Classic Balvenie honey, orchard fruits, toffee, and oak on the nose. The palate is voluptuous, with orange, honey, ginger, and milk chocolate. Spicy sherry in the rich, long finish. (3,600 bottles)
