Tasting notes
The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts resents being awaken from its deep sleep, unwinding in the glass and shedding a touch of youthful reduction to reveal a deep bouquet of wild berries, smoked duck, exotic spices, orange rind, peonies and sweet soil tones. Deep, full-bodied and concentrated, it's serious and tightly wound, with striking intensity and length. As I predicted when I last reviewed it, it will require—and requite—patience.

A much darker and more virile side of Vosne emerges from the 2015 Les Beaux Monts. Explosive and ample in textural feel, the Beaux Monts is a wine of real breadth. Smoke, leather and earthy notes complement the dark-tone fruit nicely in conveying an impression of authority.
About the producer

For many, Domaine Leroy represents the pinnacle of fine Burgundy. Owned and run by the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, the domaine in Vosne-Romanée is one strand of the Leroy empire, along with Maison Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay.
