Tasting notes
(entirely destemmed; made from 60+-year-old vines): Healthy bright red. Sexy scents of cherry liqueur and rose petal lifted by a minty high note. Suave and fine-grained, conveying a lovely light touch to its red berry and orange zest flavors. This classy village wine perks up the taste buds on the perfumed finish. Marchand-Tawse changed fruit sources for this wine in 2016, dropping Hautes Maizières and replacing it with Basses Maizières and Aux Ormes, which have yielded a more elegant wine.

The 2016 Vosne-Romanee Village now comes from Hautes Maizières and Aux Ormes. It has a lifted, crushed violet-scented bouquet with more energy and intensity than the Chambolle Village. The palate is fresh and vibrant with fresh red cherry and strawberry fruit, vivacious with a pretty finish. The best village cru from Marchand-Tawse.
Two out of the six casks are new. No whole bunch. Pretty good crop! Bright crimson with a purple rim. Scented and fresh on the nose. Lots of intensity and structure. Quite refined. Very pure. Hautes-Maizières informs this. GV ? (JR)
