Tasting notes
Dark red with ruby highlights. Subtle scents of black cherry and dark raspberry complicated by menthol and violet. Juicy, spicy and energetic but a bit youthfully imploded, displaying an almost metallic minerality; aeration brought suppler notes of redcurrant and earth and a sexy spicy sweetness.

The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Lavières has a clean and pure, more generous and fruit-driven bouquet than the Charmois, with blackcurrant, raspberry and hints of crushed violet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity and an attractive oyster shell note that tinctures that black fruit on the finish. Very fine.
Vineyard is close to Vosne. Precocious and well integrated. Bright fruit and racy and red-cherry fruit. Good pace, quite a bit of tannin.
