Pale yellow. Aromas of lemon, lime and vanilla are lifted by a chalky quality. Round, velvety Charmes with inviting white peach and ripe citrus flavors. In a seamless, deceptively accessible style but this wine will need a year or two to lose its element of musky reduction. Finishes dry and persistent.

More steely on the nose compared with the Ladoix just tasted. Plus a fine, dusty minerality. This is really good, creamy in texture, with lively citrus fruit and a dry, almost tannic finish. (JH)
(malo finished): Pale yellow. Sexy hints of peach and mango on the nose. Creamy in the middle and surprisingly easy and open-knit today. (The yield here was normal, as with the Blagny.) An attractive midweight wine with moderate intensity, this premier cru finishes with a dusty note of lime peel, a touch of salinity and a slightly phenolic character. Faiveley noted that this wine is less concentrated than the 2015 and similar in balance to the 2009.

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
