Solid, dense and very firm. Not very subtle – a bit of a sledgehammer. (JR)

(from parcels on the north and south sides of the village, on deeper soil and calcaire, respectively; vinified with 100% whole clusters): Bright medium red. Piquant peppery lift to the aromas of black raspberry, iron and spices. A juicy, savory Fixin, with dark berry and bitter chocolate flavors currently cut off by slightly tough oak-driven tannins. In a rather muscular style but with no shortage of flavor. Mortet noted that it would have been very hard to destem these tiny millerandé berries.

The 2015 Fixin Village is 100% whole bunch fruit with 20% new oak, this cru going through its malolactic more quickly than others. It has a bright, almost pastille-like bouquet whereby it's damn difficult to detect that stem addition, a sign of very fine winemaking nous. The palate is medium-bodied with tensile tannin, vivid black cherry and cranberry fruit, with fine structure and precision on the finish. This is an elegant Fixin with great mineral expression.
