Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2014
Inviting aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, minerals and chocolate. A juicy, spicy midweight with good verve to its dark fruit, stone and fresh herb flavors. In a rather taut style compared to the creamier 2012, finishing with a peppery quality and less giving tannins. But I marginally prefer this vintage for its lift and length.

A ripe, resonant Burgundy, 2011 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cabottes is laced with plum, black cherry and menthol. This is an especially rich, intense style of Chambolle. With time in the glass, the wine takes on darker tonalities as the broad shoulders fill out. I imagine the 2011 will drink well pretty much upon release.
