Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2017-2029, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2015

The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Lavrottes is a new fermage from a comparatively less seen vineyard, the grapes purchased and raised at the domaine. The nose was showing a bit of reduction and was difficult to read. The palate is chewy on the entry with still some new oak to be subsumed, although there is good body here, fine weight in the mouth whilst the acidity maintains freshness. It's yet to find its individual voice, but I am sure that will come by the time it has finished its barrel maturation.
