The debut vintage for this wine, the 2015 Cuvee H Pinot Noir is named in homage to winemaker Hatsch Kalberer. It's a blend drawn from several vineyard sites, offering complex aromas of cola spices, plum and earth. Full-bodied, dense and rich, it's about texture as much or more than it is about fragrance. With its plush feel and long, savory, subtly spicy finish, it should be capable of aging for a decade or so.

A new cuvée designed to sell in greater volume than the tiny-batch single-vineyard wines. Ruby. Quite funky and earthy on the nose. Big and round and rather European somehow. More structure than fruit. Food wine! (JR)
It is awesome to see a powerful pinot expressed so elegantly with poise and structure. Complex aromas of dark berry, smoked game, dried herb, cedar and floral lead to a beautifully weighted palate that is multi-layered and seamlessly woven. Very complex and layered pinot here. There's a wealth of oak spices and gently meaty notes with a cooler floral edge, too.
