Tasting notes
(from a .70 ha parcel of 55+ year old vines). Here too there is a discreet application of wood setting off the elegant, cool and airy aromas of purple fruit, plum, spice and exotic tea-scented nose. The super-sleek and beautifully well-delineated medium weight flavors are like rolling pebbles around in the mouth, all wrapped in a hugely long finish that also displays just a whisper of warmth. Interestingly, this isn’t quite as concentrated as the Ech but there is more minerality and a bit more supporting acidity as well. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com

Emmanuel Rouget's 2015 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Cros Parantoux is superb—and one of the high points of this great year for red Burgundy—soaring from the glass with aromas of spice, game bird and wild red and black fruit, its new wood already well integrated. On the palate, the wine is gourmand, textural and full-bodied, with bottomless depth at the core, underpinned by a bright line of acidity that lends length and grace. The cool mesoclimate of the Clos Parantoux has married to great effect with the balmy 2015 vintage. Apr 2018, www.robertparker.com
