Score 90/100 · Drink 2018-2028, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Mercurey La Framboisière is lovely, opening in the glass with expressive aromas of red cherries, raspberries, cassis and incipient suggestions of black truffle. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and succulent, with a generous core of ripe fruit, juicy acids, and fine-grained tannins that assert themselves with a touch of Côte Chalonnaise rusticity on the tangy finish. This is a touch more ripe and gourmand than usual, but it wears the warmth of the vintage beautifully and represents one of the finest values in the portfolio. Since some 65,000 bottles are produced every year, it's also easy to find.

Cask sample. Mid cherry red. Deliciously fragrant with red fruit. It may be auto-suggestion but there's raspberry fruit in here. A touch smoky but fine and refined with freshness to the end. Juicy, lively. (JH)
